The Great Escape Lakeside was built for one thing: play. Every room hides a game, and the in the hallway is real. Mornings go to the lazy river and the two-story slide, afternoons disappear into the Jumanji theater, the CLUE escape room, and the laser maze, and evenings end at the campfire down at the water. The whole estate is yours alone, one group at a time.
A huge 40,000-gallon swimming complex shaped like a giant fish. The eye is the hot tub and spa, the granite-bordered center is a large swimming area with a hiding space behind the eye, the perimeter is a multi-speed lazy river, the top fin is a walking bridge over the river, and the tail is a shallow kiddy pool with its own baby slide. Larger than the pools at many hotels, with a negative-edge spillover, poolside TV, and the outdoor kitchen alongside. Under the Florida sun it stays naturally warm most of the year, and it can be mechanically heated for $95 a day by advance request.
Climb the stairs to a high-speed plunge that is not for the faint-hearted: the giant blue flume rockets you into six feet of water at the deep end of the Go Fish pool. There is also a second kiddy slide for those who are not quite ready for big thrills. One 34-year-old guest reported riding it 147 times in just under a week. Can anyone in your group top that?
The classic table game blown up to life size: you and your group are the foosmen. Grab a rail, hold your line, and shuffle side to side as the ball flies across the outdoor court. It is one of the estate’s most-played outdoor games, and spectators enjoy it nearly as much as the players.
A giant 700-plus square foot high-tech inflatable night club. Use the digital scoreboard to pick one of three game types, wait for the countdown, and then race to tag as many of your team’s colored lights as you can while music plays and the walls glow in random sequences. Guests ages 2 to 92 love it. During your stay the estate may provide either human bowling or this newer, upgraded light race arena.
Billiards played with your feet: a giant felt court set up like a pool table, with soccer balls standing in for billiard balls. Line up your shot, kick, and call your pocket. Easy to learn in one round and genuinely competitive by the second.
Enjoy unlimited pickleball on the estate’s full regulation-sized court. Paddles and balls are provided, so the only thing your group needs to bring is a healthy sense of rivalry.
Beyond the pool and the pickleball court, the grounds also hold a basketball court, a volleyball setup, and a tetherball pole, with equipment for all three provided. Between these, human foosball, Snookball, and giant chess, the outdoors alone can fill a full day.
Two of the estate’s larger-than-life lawn games: a giant outdoor chess set with pieces big enough to carry with two hands, and a giant Connect 4 frame that turns the family classic into a spectator sport. Both sit out on the lawn, ready whenever your group is.
Evenings at the estate end at the water: a campfire spot at the lake’s edge for s’mores and stories, picnic spots across the ten acres, and Central Florida sunsets over the lake that regularly stop dinner conversation mid-sentence.
The estate sits on the shore of Lake Walsh, a nice-sized natural Central Florida lake with plenty of bass and catfish. The homes around it are spread so far apart you would almost never see anyone else from the Great Escape’s peaceful spot on its shore. The entire lake is quiet and serene, and it is large enough that rowing around it is a real outing.
The estate provides kayaks, canoes, and a pedal boat, all at no additional charge, along with oars, life vests, and a few fishing poles. The freshwater lake is extremely peaceful: guests often spot sandhill cranes and other gorgeous birds. Fish as much as you like, or just sit back, watch, and listen to nature while finally feeling away from it all.
The Great Escape sits on ten very private acres along the shoreline, behind its own gate. The grounds hold the courts, the lawn games, the campfire, the hammocks, and the dock, with room left over for a wedding tent, and the nearest neighbors are far enough away that the estate feels like its own world.
Strung near the water’s edge, the hammocks are where the estate’s pace finally drops to zero. Claim one with a book, or just swing and watch the lake go by.
Stocked with every appliance you will need, service for more people than you will invite, and enough cookware and bakeware to create meals your group talks about for years. Beneath the dining-table glass and in the wall’s shadow boxes are beautiful depictions of classic international games: excellent food for conversation. Formal seating for 16, folding tables and chairs for 20 more, and an adjacent formal room seating another 6 mean you can comfortably serve at least 42 around the kitchen and dining area, and since it spills out to the outdoor kitchen, a meal for 80-plus is genuinely possible. There is a second full-size refrigerator-freezer in the kitchen, a tall slim fridge-freezer outdoors, and a mini fridge next to the grill.
A horseshoe island much larger than it looks in photos, featuring a large high-end grill, refrigerators, a sink, an ice machine, and a dishwasher, with plenty of counter space, cooking utensils, and service for about 100 guests. Around the grill and pool there is seating for approximately 45, folding tables and chairs for another 20, and guests hosting larger events can rent extra seating and host up to 115 people outdoors. Each stay includes one full tank of propane, with refills available locally.
Food here is the only thing that should never be game-y. Popular referred options include Maurice Bichette of Hidalgo Catering (407-461-2014) for customized menus from a single special meal to daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner; River City Catering (407-324-4343) for buffets, carving stations, and full wait-staff feasts; and Clermont Custom Confections (Keri Caridi, 407-620-6259) for cakes, cupcakes, and custom sweets. You can also order delivery from several dozen area restaurants, have groceries delivered via Instacart, or go big with approved vendors offering poolside luau dinner shows and immersive murder mysteries.
A state-of-the-art private movie theater wrapped in the legend of Jumanji, complete with its own box-office lobby. Settle into the reclining seats for DVD, Blu-Ray, or streaming movies, connect your own playlists over Bluetooth, and pipe sound through the multi-zone audio system. Movie night here is an event, not an afterthought.
Play versions of Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and others in the estate’s own TV game-show booth. Race to click game-show-style buzzers while your family studio audience cheers you on. The Great Escape Lakeside was a phenomenal venue for our wedding. Our family and friends had an outstanding time with all the games and rooms.
So fun!! We stayed here with a group of 22 (three generations) and all had a blast! So many fun on-site games and activities. I think the in-house theater and the arcade games were the biggest hits.

Excellent vacation location! In the woods, secluded, private, and significant space for as many as 70 people to enjoy themselves; house sleeps up to 50 people. For me, it's only 15 minutes from my house. Family visiting from several States to renew and strengthen our family bond.
There wasn't enough time to do every activity this house has to offer! I stayed in the Pac-Man room and was not disappointed. Every room was intricately decorated and designed and it was fun just to tour the house! There are indoor as well as outdoor activities so no one will be bored on your stay!
We are having so much fun! Playing new games that we didn’t even know existed and lots of the classics! The theater is awesome and everyone has enjoyed it at one point or another. We are really enjoying our stay. This is a really great idea for a group of people to get together, play, and enjoy a stay.
Fascinating. It's like being in a movie. Each room is decorated with a different theme. It has play areas for both children and adults. The pool is very inviting, and you can go boating on the lake. The house has all the necessary amenities and is beautiful. It's a dreamlike place, in direct contact with nature.

We had a great time on this vacation. Their communication, attentiveness, and problem solving was outstanding from the day we booked until the vacation was completed. I HIGHLY recommend this vacation home rental. My only critique would be, the pedal boat, kayaks, and canoe's were kept in poor condition.
A bunch of my friends and family came here to celebrate my 40th birthday. The place was amazing! Everything was very clean and in proper working order. The owners were very friendly and were prompt to respond to the couple of minor issues we had along the way. Overall great experience, and would highly recommend!

Celebrated my friend's 25th wedding anniversary w/friends. Had a Wonderful time. All rooms, except the dungeon room had their own bathrooms. We all had our own rooms. I stayed in the Operations room. Beds were comfortable. The house was well stocked w/everything that we needed (washer/dryers, kitchen supplies, bedding, bathroom supplies, & of course plenty of games).
Never have I ever been to a more perfect family vacation spot!! This house is incredible!! The property is so secluded and peaceful and the rooms are like something from a dream. Everyone in our group (from month old babies to old grandparents) had an absolute blast. And to top it off, the owner stopped by with a beautiful cake to thank my father for his military service. So thoughtful. The management staff was so friendly too. Everything was above and beyond expectation. Highly recommended
I must say this home was everything I expected and more!!! The host was very polite and professional. My 45th birthday could not have been any more memorable. My family and friends enjoyed every room, games and pool. We even had the luau package as well. The only issue was with the surround sound. I had to keep my phone close to the theater room in order for it to stay connected. I definitely want will be reserving the other homes of this owner. You will not go wrong with reserving this home!!!
We went here to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends from ages 6-80, and we had a fabulous time! There was so much to do inside and outside! The rooms are amazing with games of all kinds, and everyone enjoyed the gigantic Word Find on the wall! The staff was absolutely amazing--thank you Alyssa--and made us feel at home. You can call on them at any time and they really wanted you to enjoy your stay. I highly recommend a family vacation here! The grandkids definitely enjoyed the pool and slide!
