Orlando Rentals: 4 Off-The-Beaten Path Excursions For Our Guests

If you are planning a trip to our Orlando rentals, but don't feel like heading to one our area's amazing theme parks, never fear. There are still tons of fantastic adventures and excursions to enjoy. Some of the following are quite close to our luxury Orlando rentals, while others would make a great option for a day trip.

1. Sample Some Local Wine

Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards is just a few miles from each of our three Orlando rentals. This winery offers daily complimentary winery tours and tastings as well as a variety of special events and festivals throughout the year. Events include live music, food and wine festivals and a unique wine and chocolate event. There are several other wineries in the Orlando area, but Lakeridge is by far the closest to our luxury rentals.

2. Enjoy The Rush Of NASCAR

Daytona International Speedway is about 90 minutes from Clermont, where our luxury rentals are located, but if you love racing, this trip can be an opportunity of a lifetime. You can book a tour of the facility, and there are several NASCAR experiences that you can select, as well. For instance, you can enjoy a ride-along in a genuine NASCAR race car on the famous speedway or drive a race car yourself, if you wish.

There are three levels of tours. The Speedway Tour is a 30-minute trek that takes you out to the "World Center of Racing,"and right onto the track. You'll also view the car that was the current year's Daytona 500 champion at the end of the tour. The All-Access Tour lasts 90 minutes and is quite extensive, allowing you to get a closer look at many areas of the Speedway. For both of these tours, ticket sales begin at 9 a.m. and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. If you wish to make reservations, you might want to consider the VIP Tour, which is a bit pricier but is also the most comprehensive tour, and lasts about three hours. While tours are available most days, be sure to look at the calendar on the Speedway's website to ensure that there are no special events that day. On special event days, tours are often not available.

3. Dive Into An Ancient Underground Cave

If you've ever dreamt about snorkeling or scuba diving in an underground spring nestled in a prehistoric cave, then Devil's Den might be a perfect excursion for you. Williston is about 80-90 minutes from Clermont and our Orlando rentals, so be sure to do a bit of research about Devil's Den prior to heading up to the site. Children six and under are not permitted to snorkel or dive, and all children 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

While you are in Williston, you might also consider checking out the beautiful Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens, which features a nature preserve and botanical gardens. Cedar Lakes is definitely worth the trip to Williston, so if you are unable to get a convenient spot at Devil's Den, head straight to Cedar Lakes and enjoy some natural beauty.

As a side note, Cedar Lakes is closed on Wednesdays, so be sure to plan accordingly. Also, because Cedar Lakes' gardens are built into a limerock quarry, they aren't particularly accessible for those with limited mobility or those who use a wheelchair. These two activities are just the tip of the iceberg of what's available in Williston, which also includes a second botanical garden and the Kirby Family Farm, which is ideal for those traveling with younger children.

4. Enjoy A Historic Lakeside Town

While Clermont is itself a historic town, incorporated in 1916, and featuring a lovely downtown historic district, there are also a few other notable historic towns that are worth a visit. For instance, Mount Dora is a picturesque town only about 45 minutes from our three Orlando rentals. This town hosts a wide variety of festivals throughout the year, and even features the nickname "The Festival City."The town hosts special seasonal festivals, as well as food-themed festivals and musical events. Additionally, visitors to Mount Dora can book a trip on the historic Orlando & Northwestern Railway. There are also several museums, antique stores, flea markets, boat tours, seaplane tours and much more.

Of course, given the numerous amenities we offer at each of our three luxurious Orlando rentals, it's possible that you won't venture off the grounds at all. To learn more about our fabulous rentals, you can access the websites for all three mansions by clicking on the "Menu"tab at the top of our homepage.
